The UK Prime Minister plans to press partner nations to supply Ukraine with more extended-range weaponry to strike enemy locations during a meeting in the UK capital on the upcoming Friday.

Sir Keir is set to welcome President Zelensky alongside what's known as "coalition of the willing", including over twenty of Kyiv's partners who have agreed to provide Ukraine defense assurances once fighting stops is negotiated.

Zelensky has been appealing for several weeks for more advanced missile technology from Western nations, an action that Russia has stated would intensify the conflict.

The Ukrainian president is travelling from the EU capital, where he met European representatives on Thursday requesting financial support.

"The sole individual participating in the ongoing war who does not want to halt the war is Vladimir Putin," the Prime Minister stated.

Sir Keir will also reveal that 100 additional air defence missiles will be supplied to Ukrainian forces sooner than scheduled, as outlined in a multi-billion pound agreement concluded between the UK and the Ukrainian government in March.

Global Backing

Ukraine's leader arrives after significant diplomatic successes recently: Washington's action to implement additional restrictions against the Russian government, and European countries agreeing to finance a Ukrainian budget hole.

Sir Keir is seeking to maintain the momentum by intensifying the pressure on the Kremlin to pursue a resolution to the war.

The Prime Minister will press leaders to increase the provision of long-range weapons following an effective strike on an industrial facility in the Bryansk region, Russia, using British-supplied missile systems.

"Furthermore, his brutal assaults on small children in a daycare in recent days make that crystal clear," he added.

A pair of children were part of a minimum of seven killed in multiple Russian strikes on Ukraine, which struck a preschool facility in the second biggest city Ukraine's second city.

Financial Discussions

Sir Keir will confer with supporting countries on approaches for withdraw Russia's petroleum resources off the global market.

Delegates will also consider using frozen Russian assets to supply Kyiv with economic assistance, though the initiative encountered a lack of political consensus and jurisdictional challenges at the Brussels summit on yesterday.

European Union declined to approving a plan to use up to €140bn in seized Russian resources to financially prop up the Ukrainian economy.

However, the leaders agreed to contribute to Ukraine's "financial needs" for the coming 24 months.

The US also disclosed restrictions on recently against Moscow's major energy corporations, the state-owned company and the private firm, as part of efforts to apply economic pressure on the Kremlin to enter ceasefire negotiations.

Russia began its major offensive of Ukrainian territory in February 2022. Russian troops currently occupies about one-fifth of Ukrainian territory, comprising the Crimean peninsula Russia seized in several years ago.
