Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Police reported they were alerted by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say preliminary tests show the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

A senior official stated the vandalism rendered him without words and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
